Dykstra for Sheriff 2026

Committed to Community

My goal is to continue to grow and advance our Office and improve on the work we have been doing for the last decade. Growth in Law Enforcement is multifaceted and can often lead to an Office being more accessible, but less personable. My 20 years of Law Enforcement experience has taught me that personal interactions and connections pave the way to serve our community in the most effective manner. I am committed to maintaining the highest level of community involvement and leadership while pushing the Office to be a modern professional organization.

Tad Dykstra for Park County Sheriff

Raghorn and Rye

About

I began my law enforcement career in 2006 in the state of Michigan. After 11 years on patrol, also serving as a Search and Recovery Diver, and Field Training Officer, I made the decision to make a major life change and move to Montana.

Since 2017, I have been a Patrol Deputy, Sergeant, Search and Rescue Commander and Patrol Captain with your Park County Sheriff's Office. In February of 2024, I was appointed as Sheriff Brad Bichler's Undersheriff. On February 13th, 2026 Sheriff Brad Bichler retired and I was sworn in as your Park County Sheriff.

I am married to the most amazing woman, Alyssa, who has supported and pushed me to where I am now. Alyssa and I have created a wonderful home for our daughter, Hattie Lynn, who attends St. Mary's Catholic School here in Livingston.
